This year, Home Design magazine celebrates 21 years of continuous publication.
Launched in 1996 as a magazine for builders and architects to showcase their work to eager homeowners seeking an alternative to mass housing design, Home Design has seen several iterations throughout its life.
During the 1990s and 2000s, as the demand for a comprehensive publication for homeowners grew, Home Design evolved to encompass all aspects of creating a dream home, from showcasing the work of designers, architects and builders, artists and creatives to the inclusion of a wider range of products and services from Australia and around the globe.
At the helm of Home Design, is editor-in-chief Kate St James, an interior designer and editor with a passion for quality, authentic, eco-friendly design. Since 1998, along with a dedicated team of in-house and freelance writers and journalists, Kate’s vision has always been to promote an awareness of Australian and international architecture and design to demonstrate to the wider community the meaningful way it can impact on our lives.
At the recent Home Show in Sydney and later this month in Melbourne, Home Design hosted the exhibitor drinks evening taking the opportunity to celebrate 21 years of excellence in home design publishing.
