Zip HydroTap — restaurant-style entertaining
The owners of this home were hoping for a semi-commercial kitchen to replace a tired and dated room so they approached designer Daniel Monteverde from Kastell Kitchens, who has created a space that more than meets this brief.
Needing to work around the existing floor tiles, the designer suggested an open-plan design with lots of bench space for food preparation. Of vital importance was the selection of appliances and this kitchen has been kitted out with a range of functional items including a Zip HydroTap Boiling Chilled, a Unox ChefTop commercial oven and Barazza cooktops.
“My clients are serious entertainers so I knew the pressure was on me to ensure all the appliances specified could perform all day, every day. I chose a Zip HydroTap, both for its energy-efficiency and the high levels of filtration, ensuring my clients have instant access to filtered boiling and chilled water whenever they need it,” says Daniel Monteverde.
A concealed walk-in pantry is hidden behind a timber veneer panel for a sleek, streamlined look while touch-catch drawers are much appreciated during busy meal preparation times. A variety of convenient storage solutions ensures the owners have plenty of space for all their items with the most-used pieces kept close to hand.
The range of textured finishes defines a variety of zones within the kitchen and adds to the visual aesthetic of the room. More bulky elements, such as the thick stone end panel on the island bench, are softened by a simple, round pendant light above.
