Sustainable design principles event
Sustainability has moved on from being solely concerned with the environment. It’s evolved into a more holistic practice, taking into consideration community, health, wellbeing, transparency and authenticity.
This is being translated more substantially into built environments as more pressure is being placed on building practitioners to be aware of, and understand how, to create environments that will stand up to this new holistic norm.
Sustainable Design Principles Event (SDPE) collates information and projects to inspire you in your quest for better buildings.
This year, SDPE 2015 focuses on the UTS Dr Chau Chak Wing Building by Gehry Partners, and looks at its sustainability, its challenges and how it will function as a space for the development of knowledge and ideas, serving the community for decades to come.
The event will be held in the auditorium of the Dr Chau Chak Wing Building in Ultimo on Thursday 10 September.
This exciting event line-up — not to be missed — includes a welcome by Eminè Mehmet, founder of SDPE & Global Sustainability Ambassador and keynote speaker Danielle McCartney, Manager Sustainability, University of Technology, Sydney. Our very own Peter Colquhoun will be MC-ing the event with Barry Du Bois of The Living Room, and a panel discussion between Danielle McCartney of the University of Technology Sydney, Ray Favetti from Favetti Group of Companies, Cathy Inglis of Brickworks and Stephen Giblett of Aecom will be featured.
Tickets, on sale now, are being sold for $35, and 20 per cent of all ticket sales will go to the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife. Definitely don’t miss out!
