Geometric complexity in the heart of San Francisco

This community-inspired architecture includes a 40-floor luxury tower of residences, with the ‘Panorama Collection’ of penthouse homes offering stunning views coupled with expansive floor plans sitting atop the site.

To realise the geometric complexity of the project’s dynamic, elite urban architecture firm Urban Gang designed a ‘white curtain wall’. To achieve this, a modular façade system consisting of families of units was constructed that repeats every 11 floors. This feat of engineering, adapted from the aerospace industry, focuses on achieving the exceptionally smooth and clean look of the curtain wall’s Italian-made white panels.

The curtain wall, constructed with large bay windows twisting up the building’s façade is a part of a distinctive, spiralling design that transforms San Francisco’s skyline and offering residents sweeping views of San Francisco Bay, the Bay Bridge, and the City. “Reinterpreting the classic bay windows of San Francisco, our design amplifies the dynamic quality of the neighbourhood,” says Jeanne Gang, founding principal of Studio Gang. “Spiraling all the way up this 400-foot tower, bay windows create unique spaces in every residence that offer fresh air, expansive views, and changing qualities of light throughout the day.”
