HVG Facades continues its commitment to sustainability with EnviroSmart program

At HVG Facades the commitment to sustainability is one of their core business objectives with an aim to minimise any negative impact they have on the environment. Last year, HVG Facades recycled over 74,000 kilograms of combustible cladding waste through its EnviroSmart program.

To help break that figure down, the benefit of replacing and recycling that level of combustible cladding compares to removing 129 cars from roads and saving the equivalent energy that would power 371 households per year.

In addition, HVG Facades’ EnviroSmart program saw a large water-saving result – equating to approximately two Olympic-size swimming pools. The recycling program also saved space in landfill, comparable to over 3600 wheelie bins.

Aluminium, for example, is 100 percent recyclable and experiences no loss of properties or quality during the recycling process. When you recycle aluminium, it only requires five percent of the energy that’s used to create new aluminium and emits just five percent of the greenhouse gases.

It’s for these reasons that approximately 75 percent of the aluminium ever produced is still in use today!

HVG Facades implements sustainable management and recycling program with EnviroSmart

In partnership with approved recycling experts, HVG Facades has created EnviroSmart.

The program seeks to address a significant need in the construction industry in a sustainable manner that contributes to the future health of the planet.

As an end-to-end solution that is cost-effective and safe, EnviroSmart is a program that removes and recycles aluminium composite panels. As a completely transparent solution, EnviroSmart can provide certified documentation of the entire process.

As part of the program, EnviroSmart guarantees 100 percent of non-compliant Aluminium Composite Panel (ACP) cladding material will be diverted from landfill. HVG Facade’s system ensures that the aluminium and PolyEthylene (PE) core from these panels are recycled right here in Australia.

“We will help to stimulate a circular economy that will continue to move away from singular-use products by feeding recyclables back into the manufacturing stage to be reused and recycled again,” explains HVG Facades.

“We aim to continue to work with manufacturers to determine where the recycled product will be repurposed.”

Making recladding even greener 

In addition to recycling and reusing non-compliant aluminium cladding, HVG Facades has gone one step further by teaming up with Carbon Positive Australia to plant trees and restore the Australian landscape.
