Australia’s Silica Cutting Laws: Why Weathertex Cladding is the Safer Choice

The recent introduction of new silica laws in Australia has significantly impacted the construction industry, particularly regarding the handling and processing of materials containing crystalline silica substances (CSS). These regulations aim to protect workers by controlling the risks associated with inhaling silica dust, which can lead to serious health issues such as silicosis.

Weathertex: Exempt from Silica Regulations

However, not all materials fall under these new laws. It’s important to note that Weathertex cladding is exempt from these requirements as we are made from 97% hardwood timber and 3% wax. Weathertex products contain no added chemicals such as resin, formaldehyde or silica.

Certified Safe and Sustainable

Weathertex has received a Platinum Health Rating on Global GreenTag Product Health Declaration (PHD), meaning its ingredients have undergone a comprehensive hazard assessment and posing no harm to human health. Click here to see full certification.
