Sculptural Serenity as Roca Expands the Ohtake Collection

Roca continues to evolve the art of bathroom design with the latest additions to its award-winning Ohtake collection, led by architect and designer Rodrigo Ohtake.

Deeply personal and inspired by his late father, the acclaimed Brazilian architect Ruy Ohtake, the new sculptural pieces elevate daily rituals through organic forms, cultural references and advanced materials.

At the centre of the release is a compact, cocoon-like bathtub, moulded from Roca’s proprietary Stonex® material. Referencing the Japanese tradition of Ofuro bathing—a practice rooted in relaxation, ritual and connection—the bath’s steep sides and integrated seat invite an upright, meditative posture. Thoughtfully designed accessories, made from sustainable soy resin, include a modular step that doubles as a stool and a curved side shelf, reinforcing the bath as a restorative focal point in the contemporary bathroom.

Rodrigo Ohtake also introduces two new basin designs that continue the collection’s sculptural language. Inspired by the soft silhouette of the calla lily, the basins were developed using hand-sculpted models, allowing each piece to evolve naturally through material exploration. The result is a suite that feels both contemporary and timeless, offered in a considered palette of finishes including matt white, onyx, coffee and a distinctive terracotta exclusive to Brazil, available globally by request.

These new additions reflect Roca’s longstanding commitment to sustainable innovation. Each piece combines beauty with function, using eco-conscious materials and low-impact manufacturing processes. The updated Ohtake collection has already been internationally recognised, receiving the Best in Show Revestir 2025, the Red Dot Design Award and the iF Design Award in Product Design.

‘The connection to my father’s legacy is naturally maintained as I incorporate new influences,’ says Rodrigo. ‘He was my great teacher, and my philosophy of architecture comes from him.’

Blending tradition, innovation and a refined design language, the Ohtake collection offers a poetic and purposeful approach to modern bathroom spaces.
