With surface contamination a significant factor in the transmission of pathogens, selecting materials that support infection control is essential to healthcare and aged care design. Staron® Solid Surfaces not only meet these stringent hygienic requirements but also provide enhanced design potential. Combining seamless integration with a smooth, non-porous and homogeneous composition, Staron® enables visually refined, comfortable and hygienic environments that promote wellbeing and long-term durability.

Manufactured from silica free refined minerals and high-quality acrylic resin, Staron® helps prevent the growth of mould, mildew and bacteria. Its smooth surface and seamless joining method eliminates crevices where dirt and contaminants can accumulate. This seamless implementation extends across benchtops, wall cladding, wash stations, patient room joinery, treatment areas and reception zones, allowing for easy cleaning and disinfecting across every touchpoint.

Staron’s® robust composition withstands excessive cleaning regimes, moisture and disinfectants without losing its finish or integrity. The ability to thermoform Staron® into curved and ergonomic shapes enables designers superior customised outcomes. The seamless joining also eliminates hard-to-clean corners and junctions, helping surfaces stay cleaner for longer and reducing time spent on intensive cleaning and maintenance.

From nurse stations, foyers and medication preparation areas to wet zones and exterior applications, Staron® can be tailored to suit any functional and hygienic design requirement, providing a surface that is as practical as it is beautiful.

Staron® Solid Surfaces inherent characteristics create an environment where bacteria cannot sustain, thanks to the smooth, non-porous composition. Building on this, Staron® Evermoin designs offer antimicrobial properties taking hygiene a step further with its advanced technology that actively inhibits bacterial growth. Together, they provide an exceptional solution for areas where superior hygiene is essential.

With the ease of rejuvenation, repairability and upcycling potential, Staron® not only offers a long-term installation but also contributes to improved environmental outcomes and is available in 100 colours.
