Natural stone continues to shape contemporary bathroom design, bringing warmth, texture and a sense of permanence to modern interiors.
Responding to this enduring preference, Italian tile manufacturer Marazzi has introduced its Mystone Tivoli collection, capturing the understated beauty of classic Roman stone while delivering the durability and versatility of porcelain stoneware.
Inspired by the limestone quarried around Tivoli, near Rome, the collection recreates the softly clouded appearance of stone that has been gently weathered over centuries. Rather than dramatic veining or bold contrasts, Mystone Tivoli features a delicately mottled surface that evokes history through subtle texture and tonal variation, making it an ideal backdrop for calm, refined bathroom spaces.
The collection is particularly suited to contemporary bathrooms where material restraint plays a central role. Whether used across floors, feature walls, vanity surrounds or walk-in showers, the tiles provide a cohesive surface that complements timber, brushed metals and natural stone accents without overwhelming the space.
Contributing to the authentic appearance is Marazzi’s proprietary 3D Ink technology, which synchronises the tile’s surface structure with its printed graphics. The result is a finish that closely replicates the tactile qualities of natural stone, creating greater depth and visual realism while maintaining the practical advantages of porcelain.
Available in Bianco, Beige and Grigio, Mystone Tivoli offers designers a versatile neutral palette suitable for a wide variety of interior styles. The collection is complemented by two decorative options that introduce texture without disrupting the overall aesthetic. Vesta features a refined linear relief pattern, while Tratti presents a rhythmic mosaic design, allowing feature walls, niches and splashbacks to become subtle focal points within the bathroom.
The range is available in six formats, from 600 x 600 millimetres through to expansive 1600 x 1600 millimetre slabs, giving architects and designer’s flexibility to minimise grout lines and create seamless surfaces across walls and floors. For outdoor applications, the collection is also offered in a 20 millimetre thickness, enabling visual continuity between indoor and outdoor living spaces.
Beyond aesthetics, Mystone Tivoli is engineered for demanding environments. Suitable for high-traffic floors and high-use vertical applications, the porcelain stoneware is abrasion resistant, frost proof and designed to withstand everyday wear. By pairing the timeless elegance of Roman stone with advanced manufacturing technology, Marazzi has created a collection that delivers both enduring beauty and long-term performance for contemporary bathrooms.
