As part of Melbourne Design Week, Riva Ceramica collaborated with West End Art Space to transform its Brighton showroom into a curated exhibition space, showcasing works by contemporary artists Jenny Reddin and Lev Khesin.
The collaboration brought together art, design and architecture, creating an opportunity for visitors to experience contemporary artworks within the architectural setting of Riva’s showroom.
Both artists explore the relationship between material, form and texture, making their works a natural complement to Riva Ceramica’s collections.
Jenny Reddin, an award-winning Melbourne artist, presented striking sculptural works exploring balance, structure and gravity. Known for her meticulously engineered steel forms, including oversized lime-green cubes that appear suspended in space, Reddin challenges perceptions of weight and movement. Her sculpture Affinity was awarded the 2025 Acquisitive Art Prize at Sculpture in the Gardens, Wollongong Botanical Gardens.
Lev Khesin brought a contrasting yet complementary approach to materiality through his richly textured artworks. Using layers of pigmented silicone rather than traditional paint, Khesin creates tactile, sculptural surfaces that explore colour, depth and light, blurring the boundaries between painting and sculpture.
Beyond the traditional showroom
For Riva Ceramica, the collaboration was an opportunity to showcase how art and design can coexist, creating an engaging and unexpected experience for visitors.
By incorporating original artworks throughout the showroom, Riva encouraged visitors to consider materials beyond their conventional applications and appreciate the creative possibilities of texture, colour, form and space.
The collaboration with West End Art Space reflects Riva Ceramica’s commitment to supporting the creative community and creating meaningful connections between art, architecture and interior design.
