Intricate and Texture Artworks
Long-time friends Katrina McKeon and Kendra Sloan have always shared a love for art. Katrina McKeon owner and director of Plume Gallery and Kendra Sloan resident Fibre Artist at Plume Gallery have for the first time come together to create a unique collaboration series.
This series shares the intricate woven work by Kendra Sloan and Katrina’s signature application of textured acrylic paint to create the masterpieces: Shedding Light I & II and Shedding Layers.
Looking closer at these pieces Katrina has layered rust and textured paint, and Kendra has woven over the top creating calming dimensions with metallic waxed thread on the canvas base. This intricate blend of textures creates a compelling artwork with layers upon layers of detail.
From the collaboration series “Shedding”, the artworks depict layers and new beginnings. These pieces are available to view in-store now at Plume Gallery’s Armadale and South Melbourne Galleries or online at plumegallery.com
