Streamlined, Space-Saving Systems

The trend toward streamlined, space-saving interiors has pushed pocket doors to the forefront of design innovation. Smooth, sleek and stylish they combine practicality with ‘reveal and conceal’ appeal, and Furnware Group’s newly expanded range of Salice Exedra2 Pocket Door Systems opens infinite opportunities for both residential and commercial applications.

Building on the popularity of the fully-customisable, magnetic soft-close Exedra system — which features a standout assisted sliding action enhanced by linear damping — the Exedra2 collection has been extended to include two new, fully-retractable, bi-fold door systems in the form of the Exedra2 Smart and the premium Exedra2 Star.

Each of these high-quality, Italian-manufactured mechanisms enable two linked doors to slide simultaneously into a single cavity, allowing for up to four doors and maximum unobstructed opening sizes of up to 2977mm (Smart) and 3165mm (Star), with no bottom track to get in the way.

The slimline Exedra2 Smart mechanism allows for dual doors with shorter pocket depths and recessed handles, while the elegant Exedra2 Star paired-door system offers complete cavity and door concealment, whether open or closed, and accommodates a choice of handles, enabling it to be integrated seamlessly into surrounding cabinetry.

Residential Applications

The limitless configurations, customisable sizing and high-end finish options offered by the varying Exedra Pocket Door collections render them an ideal inclusion in almost any room of the home, whether used to enhance organisation in areas like entrances and mud rooms, put to practical use in bathrooms and laundries, chosen to conceal media, study or library zone clutter, or applied to achieve order in walk-in-wardrobes, butler’s pantries and kids’ playrooms.

The door systems also lend themselves perfectly to the construction and concealment of the dedicated preparation stations — coffee nooks, appliance cabinets, pantries, wine stores, standing desks and bar spaces — currently trending in the kitchen design and renovation sphere.

Small Space Solution

Tight, compact areas that call for optimising space are where Exedra Pocket Door Systems really come into their own though. In studio apartments, granny flats and residences requiring efficient floorplans their space-saving configuration and flush fit make them the ideal choice for European laundries — which can be neatly and discreetly tucked into halls, alcoves or combined bathroom or kitchen zones — and for concealing the likes of kitchenettes, desk areas and workspaces to achieve a look of airy simplicity.

Commercial Opportunity

Hassle-free installation, ease of removal and durable componentry render each of the three Exedra Pocket Door Systems reliable inclusions in commercial operations too. They offer boundless scope for tailored storage solutions and enhanced accessibility in areas such as offices, aged care homes, childcare centres, medical facilities, industrial workshops and retail fit-outs, and can even be used to construct easily-operable room dividers in boardrooms and shared workzones.

Furnware Group’s unique configuration software ensures smooth ordering and installation of all Exedra Pocket Door Systems too. Simply provide us with door dimensions and cabinet depth and we’ll specify the componentry required, and supply customised cutting and installation instructions, for each project.
