An 1850’s Home Renovation

Proudly manufactured in Australia.

This 1850’s home renovation highlights one of Consolidated Brass’ most popular finishes for heritage restorations, the Raw Brass finish. The componentry features colour variations throughout wherever the brass has been annealed, welded, and forged, giving each piece its unique character.

The Raw Brass finish is intended to provide a very rough industrial look which pairs well with the rustic charm of the 1850’s home. The Olde Adelaide range has a traditional ornate appeal, providing a classic style that is well suited to the period of this project.

Olde Adelaide Exposed Hob Sink Set with Swivel Outlet & Roulette Handles in Brushed Nickel Plate finish (BA1364BN)

As the original house features a galvanised bench top, the restoration called for a metal finish with a similar colour palette. Brushed Nickel Plate is a very durable finish electroplated onto polished brass and gives a warmer look than chrome. It will resist tarnishing overtime however if not cleaned, Brushed Nickel will pewter (which may be a desired look). Two black plastic spacer rings were specially made for this order to help protect galvanised steel from any potential galvanic reaction.

The renovators also chose Olde Adelaide based accessories to match throughout the restoration.
