French-Moroccan practice Studio KO has reimagined a building at Vipp’s Copenhagen headquarters into a dramatic guesthouse, with a bespoke copper kitchen as its centrepiece.
The project continues Vipp’s series of guesthouses designed to showcase the brand’s products, but here the kitchen takes on a more experimental role.
At the heart of the scheme is a dark, cylindrical volume clad in charred timber. Step inside and the mood shifts entirely, revealing a glowing copper interior anchored by Vipp’s bestselling V1 kitchen. Traditionally crafted in black or stainless steel, the V1 has been recast in a polished copper finish that reflects light across every surface. The effect heightens the intimacy of the space, with the warm metal amplifying both touch and atmosphere.
The detailing of the kitchen highlights Vipp’s precision craftsmanship while pushing the brand beyond its comfort zone. Copper’s natural patina will evolve with use, creating a living surface that responds to cooking and daily life. Handles and edges have been carefully designed to balance durability with refinement, while the reflective sheen transforms the kitchen into a sculptural object in its own right.
“The space we have imagined is very much a tribute to the opposing notions of refinement and roughness,” explained Studio KO’s Olivier Marty. “There is a kind of harmony created in the meeting of these contrasts, and I think visitors will instantly be transported when entering the space.”
Vipp CEO Kasper Egelund added, “With an element of surprise and playfulness, the space integrates tactility, audio, smell and bold aesthetics that we hope awaken all the senses.”
The result is both installation and guesthouse, blending burnt wood and glowing metal to create a sensorial environment where the kitchen becomes the defining experience.
