Austaron Surfaces has showcased how its range of surfaces can create an inviting accessible bathroom environment.
The showroom fitout demonstrates how accessible design does not have to feel clinical or cold. The space balances practical requirements with a striking aesthetic, providing visitors with a clear example of how thoughtful design can elevate everyday environments.
Upon entry, the bathroom immediately draws attention through its carefully selected surfaces and finishes available from Austaron Surfaces. The sculptural wall panels introduce texture and movement without relying on traditional tiles, while the use of a solid surface wall lining eliminates grout lines, reducing maintenance and maintaining a clean aesthetic suited to high-traffic accessible bathrooms.
Carved into Staron using designs available from the Mario Romano Walls collection, the leaf-shaped feature wall adds depth and variation, complemented by an engraved subway-style wall that introduces structure and visual rhythm. For continuity, the selected Staron wall colours are carried through to the bespoke vanity. The benchtop incorporates a covered return that eliminates the need for silicone at the junction, while a seamlessly integrated Staron basin maintains the clean, uninterrupted aesthetic. Positioned within the space, Organoid Natural Surfaces introduce a layer of biophilic warmth, embedding real natural materials into the interior and reinforcing the connection to the surrounding leaf-inspired design.
With wheelchair access in mind, a key visual feature of the room is the Kaynemaile RE/8™ mesh, used for privacy. Made from polycarbonate, it is suitable for wet areas and offers a metal finish that pairs seamlessly with the nickel tapware.
Accessibility is further supported through thoughtful fixture selection. A hidden in-wall cistern provides a compact solution suitable for accessible spaces, with pneumatically operated flush buttons. A combined tap and dryer unit also simplifies user interaction.
Together, these elements create an accessible bathroom that feels modern and welcoming.
