German manufacturer Agrob Buchtal have extended the available finishes in their non-combustible KeraTwin ceramic façade system range to include a dynamic new surface: Canyon. The expansion of Agrob’s three-dimensional façade offer enables the creation of sophisticated light and shadow effects through the use of fine steps and grooves in conjunction with striking ridges in an attractive dialogue inspired by the rocky stratifications and plateaus of the Grand Canyon in Nevada USA.

With four decades of façade manufacturing experience, Agrob Buchtal, through the design of Canyon have created a truly distinct and unique façade panel. Visual effects change depending on the time of the day, the position of the sun and the viewing position. Light and shadow become a natural means of design, offering added aesthetic value.

Consistent with the balance of the KeraTwin range, Canyon panels are light and colour-fast, anti-graffiti and self-cleaning due to proprietary system Hytect. Agrob Buchtal’s Hytect is a highly-effective and durable coating, which involves Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) being durably and inseparably baked onto the ceramic surface at high temperature. This treatment acts as a permanent catalyst and triggers a lifelong reaction activated by light (photocatalytic) with oxygen and humidity resulting in the release of oxygen and a highly hydrophilic ceramic surface. In a façade context this translates to a self-cleaning façade.

Available in unglazed earthy shades of the Natura collection (15 colours) and glazed colours from the SpectraView colour system (50 colours), designers are certain to be able to find a colour to achieve their design intent. As an additional stylistic device, installation of panels can take place in a horizontal, vertical, bonded or semi-bonded manner thanks to the intelligently designed KeraTwin K20 fastening system.

Canyon KeraTwin non-combustible panels can be produced in various grid formats in heights ranging from 15-60cm and lengths of up to 180cms. Used on large scale surfaces, panels join together to form a unified exterior covering as joints along individual tiles recede into the background becoming almost imperceptible.

For a non-combustible, high-performing façade offering in-built articulation, Agrob Buchtal’s Canyon is the façade panel of choice.
