The Australian Building Code Board (ABCB) has launched a new continuing professional development (CPD) course on heated water services, explaining the importance of using the Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA) to ensure top-class health and safety outcomes.
This course is ideal for both new practitioners and experienced plumbing professionals and it runs through Part B2 of the PCA to further understand the six main requirements that relate to proper storage and delivery of heated water.
It looks at how plumbers can safeguard people from illness, injury or loss (including loss of amenity) due to the failure of a heated water installation, ensure a heated water service is suitable, conserve water and much more.
There is also an element of the course that looks at safeguarding public and private infrastructure while also ensuring hot water systems are installed in the most economical way and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
On top of that, the CPD course tackles the main requirements that relate to health, safety, amenity, accessibility and sustainability.
