Clancy’s Fish Bar at City Beach, a beloved beachfront dining spot near Perth, Western Australia, has undergone a stunning transformation, breathing new life into its decade-old restaurant space.
Situated on the pristine white sand dunes of City Beach, with a panoramic view of the Indian Ocean’s azure waters, this iconic eatery now boasts a vibrant and family-friendly ambiance that perfectly complements its seaside location.
The renovation project was driven by a vision to revitalize the sprawling and nondescript interior into a cheerful and inviting pub environment. The clients, seeking an unrestrained and memorable design, emphasized the celebration of colour and playfulness throughout the space.
One of the most striking changes is the transformation of the vast raking ceiling, which was painted in a dark charcoal hue to create a dramatic backdrop for twelve lavish fabric chandeliers. These eye-catching chandeliers are suspended from the ceiling by vibrant fabric cords, reminiscent of the bright colours and warmth of summer beach towels, adding a whimsical touch to the setting.
To further enhance the playful atmosphere, the original concrete floor was adorned with children’s games, intricate patterns, and enchanting mermaid motifs. Every aspect of the interior, including the carefully selected or custom-designed furniture, contributes to the festival of colours and beachside charm. Multi-coloured slatted timber chairs, in particular, lend a light-hearted beach shack vibe, inviting guests to relax and unwind in style.
The renovation of Clancy’s Fish Bar at City Beach represents a successful marriage of design innovation and a deep appreciation for the coastal lifestyle. With its new vibrant interior, the restaurant promises a delightful dining experience where patrons can savour delicious seafood dishes while basking in the beauty of Perth’s coastal scenery.
This renovation serves as a testament to the enduring appeal of iconic beachfront establishments and their ability to evolve with the times while preserving their unique charm.
