Since its first edition in 2015, DENFAIR has secured itself as a monumental date on the Australian design calendar. The three day event celebrates the country’s talented pool of designers, putting emerging faces at the forefront.
DENFAIR co-founder, Thibaud Cau-Cecile says the team remain committed to ensuring the event keeps its status as Australia’s premier design event.
“The show will increase again in size by 30 per cent and we are committed to ensuring every single exhibitor is of the highest standard and every partnership and activation offers something exciting for our visitors,” says Thibaud. “Every aspect of the show experience is highly considered and design-driven – from the cafés and restaurants to the installations and creative activations”.
The founding premise for DENFAIR is to provide a platform for up-and-coming authentic designers in not only Australia but around the world. The event is almost fully subscribed with the likes of Cult, Ajar, Zuster, Space and Meizai, just to name a few. You’ll also see some new names such as Dendon, Designer Rugs and Bang&Olufsen.
Co-founder Claudio Oyarce said the show would also continue to actively protect Australian designers from the replica industry. It is perfectly legal to sell replica furniture of this kind in Australia and a number of businesses openly do so. As a result, DENFAIR is making a conscious effort to put an end to this.
“At Denfair we do not support replica,” says Claudio. “In Australia there is a lack of protection for designers so we need to stand firm and only promote and showcase originals”.
