When designer Darren James from Interiors by Darren James (darrenjames.com.au) was asked to create an open kitchen/living space with entertaining in mind, he knew it was vital that the kitchen be equipped with only the best appliances and laid out with a high level of functionality.
Centrally located on the island, the sink is fitted with both a mixer tap and a Zip HydroTap which provides instant filtered boiling and chilled water. The client loves to cook and spends many hours in the kitchen each day so an energy-efficient, reliable appliance such as the HydroTap was a must-have.
“Knowing my client’s needs and how she loves to host family and friends in her home, I recommended she include a Zip HydroTap. The immediate access to filtered boiling and chilled water is essential when entertaining and I knew this world-class appliance was up to the challenge,” Darren James says.
The kitchen is a brilliant combination of practical inclusions and spatial functionality and has been specifically designed to allow for multiple users. Casual seating brings family and friends into this central space and allows the homeowners to interact with guests while preparing a meal.
A textural aesthetic has been created with the use of timber, concrete and stone with the contrast between the materials helping the new kitchen co-exist within the original home. The feature screen between the kitchen and stairwell provides privacy yet still allows plenty of natural light into the space.
In using two different heights for the benchtops, Darren James has created a multi-functional space which is equipped to manage all that this family requires.
Zip HydroTap Boiling Chilled is now available with an additional Sparkling water option to deliver your favourite chilled sparkling water at the touch of a button. For more information on the range of Zip HydroTaps for your next kitchen visit www.zipindustries.com and request a brochure.
