Outdoor cellar-brations

Spiral Cellars has recently launched its latest product package, the Garden Cellar. Combining the newly developed weatherproof external trap door with the components of the Original Spiral Cellar, the Garden Cellar is a convenient option for cellar fans looking to avoid ripping up their beloved flooring.

Not just an alternative solution to storing wine in the home, the Garden Cellar is also a timely addition to a range of products for the outdoor entertaining area, with sophisticated furniture and outdoor kitchen equipment already popular. Perfect for storing dinner-party wines and those for longer-term cellaring, there is also plenty of room for storing garden tools and equipment, making it the ultimate garden shed.

The Garden Cellar is designed to remain watertight. It is installed by Spiral Cellars’ expert in-house teams and is fitted in exactly the same way as Spiral Cellars’ other packages, but the external trap door features a unique drainage system to ensure the cellar remains weatherproof throughout the year.

The cellar itself, the Original Spiral Cellar, is surrounded by a reinforced concrete ring to maintain the integrity of the space and withhold the ground pressure. It is lined with a waterproof bag and fitted out with curved grey concrete modules for a rustic look ideal for the garden. The cellar depth can range from 2m to 3m, dependent on how many bottles of wine — and tools — are to be stored.

Externally the trap door can be finished with the same flooring as the surrounding area, whether that be stone tiles, artificial grass or even decking. The door is opened using a mechanical system and the switch is placed within the property or an outdoor building to ensure it is secure.
