The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong opened in March, making it not only the highest hotel in the world, but the one that houses the world’s highest hotel spa: The Ritz-Carlton Spa by ESPA.
Taking the spa experience to new heights — 465 meters high, to be precise — the Ritz-Carlton Spa by ESPA will be located on the hotel’s 116th floor and will cover 860 square metres (9257 sq ft), dominating the city skyline and redefining the urban spa experience.
The spa features an indoor swimming pool with breathtaking views across Hong Kong, a ceiling-mounted LED screen and an outdoor whirlpool. It also includes nine deluxe treatment rooms and two couple’s suites, complete with relaxation lounges with floor-to ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the city and Victoria Harbor.
The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong was pleased to partner once again with leading international spa consultancy ESPA to develop the ultimate haven of sumptuous elegance. Susan Harmsworth, CEO and founder of ESPA comments: “The Ritz-Carlton Spa by ESPA is a truly breathtaking spa. Located in the world’s highest hotel, the spa is set to offer a one-of-a-kind experience for guests and a place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.”
The Ritz-Carlton Spa by ESPA was designed by HBA. Inge Moore of HBA says, “Being the highest hotel spa in the world makes this a unique space to work with. We were inspired by the idea of ‘being in the clouds’ utilising soft, smooth and natural materials.” In keeping with this concept, the breathtaking chandelier designed by Eva Menz that greets guests as they enter the spa also draws inspiration from the celestial backdrop of the clouds.
