Classic functionality with Zip HydroTap.
Having moved from acreage to a suburban setting, the owners of this kitchen — designed by Alison Attard and built by Attards Cabinetry (attards.com.au) — were keen on a space with a sleek, modern look. The design incorporates tapered handles for a streamlined finish and a host of contemporary appliances for maximum functionality.
To ensure a balance between modern and classic elements, the designer chose the finishes carefully. A quartz benchtop with one waterfall end sits at one end of the island, while hints of blue steel shades are strategically positioned throughout the kitchen. Hiding behind a matching polyurethane sliding door is the separate pantry, which is only revealed once the kitchen area is entered.
“My clients love traditional design but wanted a kitchen with an infusion of modern style,” explains designer Alison Attard. “So the choice of fittings and fixtures was vital to the success of the design. I chose the Zip HydroTap because of its modern, sleek lines, which fit the style of this kitchen perfectly. My clients also love the functionality of instant access to filtered boiling, chilled and sparkling water.”
Above, the horizontal cabinets enhance the linear appeal of the kitchen while the monochromatic colour scheme is complemented by the natural wood of the timber stools, which ties in with the timber beams in the hallway and timber veneer TV cabinets adjacent to the kitchen.
