Building Designers Victoria Association Awards announced

The winners of the Building Designers Victoria Association Awards have been announced.

An ambitious design from architectural firm Clever Design has taken out five awards, including Building Design of the Year, at this year’s Building Design Awards competition in Victoria.
The stunning minimalist design named “Out There” is positioned on a steeply sloping plot with large views over the surrounding estuaries. A large skillion roof engulfs the various areas of the home, including a stunning living area that protrudes into the open air.

Smartly ensuring the exterior materials are incorporated into the interiors, the open plan design of the home is further increased by keeping the interior spaces sparse.
Winning the award for Residential Design — New Houses: over $1M construction cost, Vibe Design Group’s Royston home design is situated on Mount Eliza and takes full advantage of the views across Port Phillip Bay.

A smartly thought out design combining boxes and lines, the home is not overbearing nor is it washed out by its stunning surrounds.

With a winning combination of passive solar design and waste reduction, Balnarring Beach House by Beaumont Concepts was bestowed the Best Environmentally Sustainable Design for Residential.

Achieving a seven-star energy rating, the Balnarring Beach House has a simple modular design that sees two pavilions interconnected, has little impact on the site or its surrounds.
