Miele has been recognised for its ongoing commitment to sustainable corporate practices, having won one of Europe’s most important sustainability prizes. The German-based, world-leading domestic appliance manufacturer recently received the National German Sustainability Award in the “large companies” category.
The judging panel also recognised Miele’s transparency in presenting its activities in its Sustainability Report. The fact that Miele assesses the sustainability of its upstream suppliers and has a commitment to “high social standards well above the average” among employees, added further weight to Miele’s nomination. The durability of Miele domestic appliances, combined with excellent energy efficiency and low consumption, “sets an exceptionally good example for sustainability in its branch of industry and society in general”.
