— with Zip HydroTap
This kitchen utilises the existing angled walls to cleverly integrate the room with the adjoining living space and create a large, multifunctional entertainment zone.
The owners requested a kitchen that would allow seamless traffic flow from kitchen to living space, with a small office and computer area included in the design. To maximise the open feel of the whole room, the design includes two long stretches of below-waist storage, with all tall cabinets located to the rear. At one end of the island bench, space has been allowed for casual seating, which is enhanced by the long bench seat on which family and friends can recline and keep the cook company.
“I wanted the kitchen to have a contemporary style with very clean lines,” explains Fred. “My client enjoys cooking, so it was important that this be an entertainer-style kitchen with plenty of bench space. In particular, I specified a Zip HydroTap so my clients can enjoy instant access to boiling and chilled filtered water — a must for everyday living, as well as when entertaining.”
An invisible pantry is hidden behind bi-fold doors to take care of any messy preparation activities and keep clutter out of the main kitchen zone. The refrigerators and freezer were integrated into the design to add to the streamlined effect with finger-pulls for all drawer fronts to keep the kitchen free from visual clutter.
