2014 Graduate of the Year Awards

The Design Institute of Australia, DIA, through the Graduate of the Year program, has once again come together to celebrate Victoria and Tasmania’s top design graduates for 2014. Ten participating Victorian and Tasmanian tertiary institutes, including Academy of Design Australia, Box Hill Institute and RMIT University, nominated their most talented graduates of 2014.

From there, a panel of judges from different design disciplines assess anonymous portfolios in the fields of Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Interior Design and Interior Design and Decoration.

Their portfolios are evaluated on apparent design solutions, transferrable workplace skills and the graduates’ predicted impact on the Australian design industry. From each field up to four finalists can be nominated to be interviewed by that same panel of judges.

The President of DIA Victoria Tasmania, Claire Beale, said “The Design Institute of Australia is proud to be recognizing and celebrating our future design leaders through the GOTYA program. Now in its seventh year, GOTYA attracts entries from a high calibre of graduates across the design disciplines.”
