Have you heard of the WaterMark Certification Scheme?

The WaterMark Certification Scheme is the mandatory certification scheme for plumbing and drainage products and is managed by the Australian Building Codes Board.

When a certain product carries the WaterMark you know that it meets the rules of the Scheme which includes certification of the relevant Australian Standards.

According to ZIP Water, if pure tasting water and the reduction of impurities and potentially harmful contaminants are important to you and your clients “you should ensure that the WaterMark certification on water filters extends to AS/NZS 4348:1995 to ensure those claims have been tested and verified to the correct standards.”

The above code is specific to filters as it certifies and verifies that the filter will reduce harmful contaminants and reduce impurities.

How do you check if your filter meets the standards?

You can check if your filter meets both standards by looking at the Performance Data Sheet that is should have been supplied with the filter upon purchase. You can see Zip’s Performance Data Sheets here.

Zip’s MicroPurity filters reduce impurities and harmful contaminants larger than 0.2 microns in size.
