Abandoned aeroplane converted into luxury guesthouse

Perched on a steep cliff above Bali’s Nyang Nyang coast, sits a decommissioned Boeing 737 given a new life being turning into a luxury vacation villa.

The aircraft was previously used by Indonesian airline Mandala Air, which stopped operating flights a decade ago and has not been used since. Travel lover and entrepreneur Felix Demin came up with the idea to give a new life to the neglected airplane, forming the first luxury hotel inside a commercial jet.

The minimalist design accommodates an infinity pool, as well as hanging gardens where guests can relish the sweeping views of the Indian ocean.

It will cost you though, with prices starting at $7,300 per night.

It took the construction team about a week to transport the aircraft to its final position as the craft had to be dismantled and reconstructed on-site. Currently available for rent, this jet villa in Pecatu features all the amenities one luxury hotel provides. The seats and flying instruments have been all removed and the cockpit has been converted into a modern bathroom with a circular stone bathtub, exuding a tranquil atmosphere with mesmerizing vistas of the sea and the sky. One of the wings was transformed into a floating garden, turning into a peaceful place for contemplation and relaxation. The hotel accommodates two bedrooms equipped with king-size beds, as well as a 24-hour front desk and free self-parking.
