Restored 100-year-old site becomes luxe furniture brand HQ
Restoration of a 100-year old site in downtown Jacksonville, Florida is one of the few remaining commercial buildings from “the old city of South Jacksonville of 1907 to 1932”.
Now home to luxury online furniture brand Industry West after a two-year adaptive reuse project involved refurbishing all three storeys of the 11,702-square-foot (1,087-square-metre) building, which dates back to 1912.

“The history of this city and this building is rich, and it’s important that Industry West be good stewards of that history,” said the brand’s CEO Jordan England. “This was not just another office project,” added England. “This was an undertaking that required us to be considerate of one of the oldest buildings in one of the oldest cities in North America.”
The renovation focused on transforming both the building’s interior and exterior to meet Industry West’s needs.
While the third floor is intended to be sublet, the first two floors now house the brand’s showroom and offices, with glass-enclosed workspaces, conference rooms and a kitchen and dining space.
The project has preserved the building’s historic features, including the original brick facade and staircase, while also incorporating new architectural features such as a skylight.
“We feel the work done here respects the history of this building and city and also is representative of how Industry West is looking to shape the future of home decor and modern furnishings,” said England.
