The unique Ringwood East project by Green Home Build Australia prioritized sustainable input materials and high energy efficiency, catering specifically to businesses like yours.
This project aimed to create a living space that excelled in both comfort and design, with a strong focus on environmentally friendly features.
Rather than relying solely on mechanical heating and cooling systems, the home was designed to harness the power of nature. The result is a naturally warm interior during winter and a cool atmosphere in summer, thanks to passive solar design.
During the construction process, great care was taken to recycle and repurpose materials from the previous structure. By giving suitable materials a second life instead of sending them to landfill, we were able to align the project with sustainability principles while also paying homage to the original construction.
Energy efficiency was a key consideration, leading us to build an all-electric home powered by a combination of solar panels and battery storage. This setup ensures the smallest carbon footprint possible. In addition, we incorporated Miglas AliClad double glazed windows featuring Solos OptEma Plus soft Low-E, resulting in high insulation levels. These windows not only provide a sharp and natural contrast to the timber and metal cladding but also allow abundant natural light to fill the rooms.
Thanks to these sustainable and energy-efficient choices, the project achieved an impressive 8.4 star NatHERS rating, further highlighting its commitment to environmental responsibility.
The Ringwood East Project was a recipient of the 2021 Sustainability Awards.
