Zip Water’s MicroPurity 6-in-1 Now Certified to Reduce Microplastics
Zip Water has announced that its MicroPurity 6-in-1 filtration system is now certified to reduce hidden microplastics in water.
On average, one person will consume a staggering 250g of microplastics each year according to research from the University of Newcastle. Microplastics, tiny particles of plastic often invisible to the naked eye, have become a pervasive issue in water sources worldwide.

The Zip MicroPurity filtration system uses triple-action technology to deliver 6-in-1 filtration, which reduces the top six harmful contaminants to provide an unrivalled drinking water experience. Zip filtration removes 99.8% of contaminants that can affect water taste and safety, including cryptosporidium and giardia, chlorine taste and odour, sediment, lead, bacteria growth, limescale and now, microplastics.
“Water quality is non-negotiable at Zip Water, and we want to ensure that every sip of water from a Zip HydroTap is not only refreshing but also free from contaminants as much as possible, including microplastics,” Zip Australia and New Zealand managing director Mike Abbott says.

The new designs will be colour-coded according to the filter part number to match existing HydroTap systems, along with more details on what the filters reduce in the drinking water.
Zip Water recommends replacing filters annually for residential customers and every six months for commercial clients to ensure optimal performance.
