Hybrid and laminate flooring delivers exceptional value for money

Hybrid planks and parquetry have become increasingly popular in suburban builds and multi-residential projects, as well as for rejuvenating existing floor surfaces. Hybrid planks are a versatile flooring solution, offering water resistance and excellent noise-dampening properties. Thicknesses vary across the portfolio, with planks ranging from 7.5mm to 12mm.

With a solution for every build, each Preference Floors range delivers the right balance of price and performance to meet the needs of a broad customer base. Specifiers can select from a portfolio including the Aspire, Easi-Plank, Iconic, Hydroplank and Lifestyle Collections. Each range features a patented click locking system for quick and easy installation, with the option for disassembly if required. Décor layers are typically available in 0.5mm or 0.7mm vinyl, featuring contemporary oak colours and textures, along with popular Australian timber species such as Blackbutt and Spotted Gum.

All hybrid flooring options include an attached acoustic sound pad bonded to a structural water-resistant core that incorporates 200µm poly film. When installed over a quality acoustic underlay, these products significantly reduce the noise associated with traditional flooring and exceed the minimum noise transmission nominated by the National Construction Code.

New generation water resistant laminates also provide excellent moisture resistance, making them well-suited to active household environments with young children and pets. With strong scratch and impact resistance and guaranteed 48 to 72 hour water resistance depending on the product and thickness, these laminate floors are designed to enhance durability and everyday performance. Always check with local building authorities before installing flooring in wet areas such as bathrooms and laundries, as these areas may require a product that meets ‘wet area deemed-to-satisfy’ requirements.

Preference Floors’ water resistant ranges include the new 8 and 12mm Oakleaf Integrity that provides 48 hour topical moisture protection at a great price point. Other popular selections include the 8 and 12mm Aspect and Oakleaf HD Plus, as well as the Swiss Krono Aquastop in 8, 12 and 14mm planks.

Oakleaf HD PLUS is a standout in the laminate flooring category, combining water resistant capabilities with high definition plank imaging to produce amazing visual detail. Each colour in this range was imaged with over 30 individual timber plank selections to display the natural charm expected from timber flooring.

Together, these ranges give architects, project managers, specifiers and designers the flexibility to select flooring that delivers the right combination of design, durability and performance for residential and industrial projects.
