Designer Training helps to rebuild Brisbane and Ipswich
Free training for thirty selected applicants to increase the skilled workforce in rebuilding Qld
Over the coming months, Designer Training will be contributing toward the enormous effort to rebuild Brisbane and Ipswich through increasing the number of skilled labour in the workforce.
As a registered training organisation (RTO), they will be providing training and assessment for 30 selected applicants to attend a training program customised for the kitchen and bathroom building industry. The distance education and workshop-based training is provided with no out-of-pocket expense to the participant and with complete support and funding from the Queensland Government.
The training is designed to equip the participants with a strong foundation and skill set specific to the building industry that will result in the placement of work within the kitchen or bathroom sector or deliver an improvement or promotion within the current place of employment. The combination of units within the training program will not only provide the participant with core industry skills but provide a platform to continue study and gain a Certificate III qualification or Certificate IV in the Design of Kitchens, Bathroom and Interior Spaces.
The students will learn how to work safely in the construction industry as well as be able to read and interpret work documents such as plans, elevations and construction requirements. A dedicated workshop will provide the students with skills to use hand and power tools for furniture making along with cabinet construction and installation methods. These skills, coupled with the knowledge of cabinet installation requirements and identifying processes in kitchen and bathroom projects, will provide a holistic approach to the study program.
