Throughout the interiors, strong architectural forms are balanced by tactile surfaces and an earthy material palette. Rather than sitting quietly in the background, the walls become an important part of the design, with Rockcote Earthen Render Coarse introducing a distinctly handcrafted quality to the spaces.

A natural clay-based finish, Earthen Render Coarse is Rockcote’s most heavily textured Natural Material finish. Its rustic surface creates visible depth and variation, allowing the character of the application to remain part of the finished wall. At Contour House, the deep-toned finish grounds the expansive interior spaces and creates a striking backdrop that changes in appearance as natural light moves across its textured surface.

The project demonstrates how a highly textured finish can work within a contemporary home. Expansive walls provide the scale for the texture to make an impact, while the natural variation within the surface prevents the darker colour palette from feeling flat or uniform.
