In 1973, a former flooring installer created a small business from his family home, believing that vinyl flooring needs to be beautiful as well as practical. Now a thriving company that stretches across the globe, the Karndean team travels the world to source the most beautiful, innovative, nature-inspired flooring designs for your home, presented in a luxury low-maintenance flooring solution.

With the busyness of life, especially if you have active children or pets, not to mention high heels, it’s no wonder wear and tear shows up on the floors of your home; scratches, stains, scuffs and dents are glaringly obvious and take time, effort and money to fix. By choosing a Karndean floor, you’re opting for easy-care, low-maintenance and fuss-free living, with floors that look good for life. Unlike laminate and engineered hardwoods, Karndean floors won’t swell, crack or warp when wet. While hardwood and ceramic tiles absorb stains, Karndean planks and tiles are non-porous and resistant to staining. Simply clean up spills such as water, coffee or wine with a pH-neutral cleaner and, voila, your floors will always look brand new. Karndean even has its own tested surface protector and cleaner — K-Guard+® — to provide hygienic, durable protection against scratches and scuffs, and make looking after your flooring easy.

Karndean Fabulous Flooring

From the timeless appeal of European oak to the character and beauty of quintessential Australian hardwood species, cool concrete to stylish slate, and offered in a range of on-trend colours, tones and textures, Karndean means you’re spoilt for choice. The popular Van Gogh range captures the look and feel of real timbers — from classic European species such as oak, elm, maple and birch to Australian timbers including blackbutt and spotted gum, the Van Gogh range celebrates the intrinsic character and rich diversity in colour, tone and texture of the world’s most beautiful timbers. This carefully curated collection of 20 wood-look planks is available in glue-down (1219.2mm x 177.8mm) or the 5G® click-locking system rigid-core format (1220mm x 180mm).

The Knight Tile range offers 16 wood and six stone-inspired designs. Timber-look planks are available in glue-down (1219.2mm x 177.8mm) or 2G™ click-locking system rigid-core formats (1220mm x 180mm). Choose from new designs inspired by Australian hardwood species or 13 distinctive oak styles. The latest addition, Blond Character Oak, was inspired by planks reclaimed from an old wind-powered sawmill in Amsterdam, a beautiful story and a beautiful flooring choice. The Knight Tile stone collection ranges from the contemporary cool of Smoked Concrete to Honed Pebble Slate, in a versatile tile size of 304.8mm x 457.2mm. Find your inspiration in these beautiful colours and designs, with a lightly textured surface that enhances their authentic good looks.

To help with selecting the right flooring solution for your project, game-changing enhancements in Karndean’s technical specifications now provide even more versatility for homeowners and designers alike with the company’s new dual-format offering, which allows you to choose the design you want, in the format you need. Karndean’s handy online Floorstyle Flooring Visualiser Tool helps customers envision many different flooring options at the click of a button, while flooring samples can be ordered from the Karndean website and delivered to your door.

With a choice of glue-down or rigid-core formats, you can have the design you want in the format you need — or use both. If you like, you can lay your preferred planks or tiles in glue-down format along a hallway and then easily extend the look over an existing tiled floor using the same design in rigid core. You may wish to create a beautiful design feature in an entrance with a herringbone pattern using glue-down oak planks and then extend the same oak through the rest of the space in a straight lay using rigid core. Adaptable, flexible and versatile, dual format lets you express your style seamlessly throughout your home.

By creating flooring you’ll love for a lifetime, Karndean is helping to reduce your environmental footprint, too. With a focus on improving the health of people and the planet, Karndean is a member of the Green Building Council Australia and Green Building Council New Zealand and its products are GreenStar GreenTag certified. The company has FloorScore Indoor Air Quality certification, and its PVC is made using best-practice environmental standards.

If that isn’t enough, Karndean floors are covered by a lifetime residential warranty, offering you exceptional peace of mind. If you haven’t considered luxury vinyl flooring before, maybe it’s time you should. Visit Karndean’s Melbourne showroom or browse the website
