Hip V Hype has created a new studio named the ‘Barkly ST Collective’. This multi-disciplinary shared workspace fosters communication, diversity of specialisations and exchange.

The kitchen is a focal place in the hub – one designed to bring people together for a better built environment, so it was no question that Cantilever were chosen to deliver this brief.

Workplace kitchens require unique design considerations relating to appliance selection and service pathways. Adequate waste disposal, dedicated recycling, multi-use food storage and volume crockery and glassware are key points when designing a kitchen space for many.

At Cantilever, creating sustainable workplaces and delivering unique design is something they are highly passionate about. They believe in improving the impact and long term quality of their build, and in turn natural environments.

Kylie Forbes, business manager for Cantilever believes that a workspace kitchen is the key to fostering better connections. “Food is our most celebrated cultural connection, and the kitchen is our tool to bring that connection to life. A workplace that shares an inspiring space for food preparation is likely to improve culture and connection among the team”.
