James Hardie has today announced the launch of Stria™ Cladding Fine Texture—an innovative new board designed to meet growing demand for modern, resilient, and cost-effective exterior solutions.
As the construction industry prepares to help deliver the 1.2 million new homes targeted under the National Housing Accord by 2029, the new product adds versatility and speed to the builder’s toolkit.
Part of the Hardie™ Architectural Collection, Stria™ Cladding Fine Texture is a 14mm thick, pre-primed board featuring a fine embedded render texture and a sharp v-groove. Designed to suit both contemporary and traditional façades, it combines the look of a rendered finish with the ease and durability of fibre cement cladding—no specialist trades or rendering steps required.
The product is available in 3000mm and 4200mm lengths and can be installed vertically or horizontally depending on the desired aesthetic. Vertical application suits Box Modern, Barn and Modern Farmhouse designs, while horizontal installation offers a classic rendered look without the weight of masonry. Interlocking edges and concealed fixings make for a streamlined installation process, supported by the Hardie™ Structural Batten for vertical use.
Builders will also appreciate its resistance to fire (BAL40 rated), rot, termites and moisture, and its compatibility with both timber and light gauge steel frames. Certified by CodeMark and backed by a 25-year warranty, Stria™ Cladding Fine Texture offers long-term peace of mind.
A smart, low-maintenance addition to the existing Stria™ Cladding range—including the smooth finish variant—the Fine Texture board is built for the homes of the future, without compromising on style, performance or ease of installation.
By eliminating the need for rendering and minimising finishing work, James Hardie continues to support the industry with thoughtful solutions that are durable, design-forward, and ready to meet Australia’s ambitious housing targets.
