Alex Milne Introduction May 2011

Although April was a busy month for KBDi, May is shaping up to be even more exciting and hectic, but nevertheless very rewarding. This month we are putting the final touches to DESIGN20eleven, our third annual national conference and awards gala. We are happy to announce that Steve Tighe, one of Australia’s most compelling speakers on the future and innovation, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s event — read on for more details.

The next series of KBDi chapter events also kicks off this month, with Industry Sponsor ecospecifier global hosting sessions around Australia, starting in Sydney and wrapping up in Perth. And with the DESIGN20eleven awards closing at the end of the month, this edition we talk to past winners — including Darren James, Lee Hardcastle, Eileen Middleton and Kim Duffin — who offer their insider advice on why you should enter this year’s program.

Other highlights from this month’s edition of the eMag include our showcase of the latest and greatest product releases, our Q&A with multi-award-winning designer Mal Corboy on his experience judging the 2011 International Design Award and Business Doctor Simon Hodgson’s expert advice on tackling end-of-financial year tasks.
