From the 3rd of August the Powerhouse Museum will be showcasing an exclusive exhibition of the work and life of prominent designer George Nelson. George Nelson trained as an architect at Yale University and went on to become design director of Herman Miller. Some of his most famous designs include the ‘Coconut Chair’, the ‘Marshmallow Sofa’ and ‘Action Office’. As well as exploring his furniture design the exhibit will also showcase his ideas on urban planning and critical essays. Developed by the Vitra Design Museum in Germany the exhibition has been brought to Australia by Herman Miller. It runs until the 10th of January 2014.
