Nominations now open

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) NSW Chapter 2013 Awards for Excellence are now accepting nominations.

Since 1995, the NAWIC have been raising the profile of women in the construction industry. Through hosting social events, education seminars, funding scholarships and hosting an annual awards program, the NAWIC are a huge encouragement to these women as well as a medium for people to recognise the contribution and involvement that women have in such a male-dominated industry. “The Awards for Excellence is the annual event most anticipated by our members. The Awards for Excellence are an important opportunity for women in all stages of their construction careers to be acknowledged,” says NAWIC NSW president Angela Ferguson.

An official launch party was hosted at the Quorra Jewellery showroom in Sydney’s CBD on June 20 to indicate that nominations are now open for 2013. Registration will be open until July 31 and nominees will include women from a broad range of construction fields, including engineers, architects, interior designers, project managers, lawyers, developers and more.

Winners will be announced at a ball held on August 22 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, hosted by entertainment reporter for the Nine Network and The Today Show, Richard Wilkins.
