Pure Black: Villeroy & Boch Redefines Bathroom Elegance

Villeroy & Boch has unveiled its Pure Black finishes, a design-driven approach that redefines the bathroom as a space of sculptural depth and architectural clarity.

The collection turns everyday fittings and furniture into statement pieces, blending striking form with functionality. At the heart of the release is the expansion of the Finion collection, now available in the matt black tone Pure Black.

The Finion washbasins, designed by Patrick Frey, are crafted from TitanCeram, a ceramic material that allows for exceptionally thin walls while maintaining strength. The finish enhances their purist silhouette, and the ceramic drain cover is kept remarkably flat, heightening the refined aesthetic. In a monochrome setting, contrasts of light, shadow and reflection emphasise proportion and scale, elevating the bathroom into an immersive environment.

Completing the vision, Villeroy & Boch has introduced a range of Finion furniture in Pure Black. Modular vanity units, tall and side cabinets, shelving and mirrors are all designed with clean lines and a handleless profile. Integrated atmospheric lighting creates further depth, while the tonal consistency ensures each piece blends seamlessly into the broader scheme. Together, they form a bathroom that is both contemporary and timeless, where the absence of colour allows design language to take centre stage.

The collection extends to Quaryl bathtubs from the Theano Original and Theano Curved series, both now available in Pure Black. The Theano Original bath expresses a sculptural, monolithic presence, while the Theano Curved offers softer, flowing contours that evoke calm and balance. When paired with the Finion furniture and basins, the result is a cohesive interior where every element works in harmony.

By embracing black in all its facets, Villeroy & Boch has created a collection that dissolves the traditional boundaries of the bathroom. Pure Black transforms the space into more than a place of function, making it an environment that reflects personal style, spatial sophistication and a new definition of self-care.
