Australian manufacturer Velieris has searched the world for the best natural fibres to create the highest quality carpets. After years of research and development, Velieris became the world pioneer of natural un-dyed alpaca carpets.
Alpaca fleece is one of the world’s rare exotic fibres. It is silky-soft to touch yet extremely strong and durable. Although mostly considered as a clothing fibre, it has excellent inherent fire-rating, thermal and acoustic properties. Alpaca demonstrates higher abrasion-resistance than wool while feeling smoother and softer at the same micron, making it an excellent fibre for floor coverings.
The Alpaca Collection is created from the finest blend of Australian and Peruvian alpaca. The natural colours are intrinsically rich, with a diverse stunning palette not found in the fleece of other animals.
By eliminating the harsh dyeing and chemical treatment processes, the Velieris Alpaca Collection retains the natural integrity, softness and resilience of the fibre. Careful classing techniques and meticulous blending processes create the authentic colour range.
With the introduction of the new alpaca twist Capulet, Velieris now has six wall-to-wall broadloom ranges in loop, cut and deep-pile styles in six timeless colours, from clean whites to deep charcoal. This effectively offers the customer 36 natural colour shades.
The carpets in the Alpaca Collection have been tested and designed for usage in Residential Extra Heavy Duty and Medium Duty Commercial applications.
To meet the demanding European market, the Alpaca Collection has been thoroughly tested and is compliant with EEC regulations for flammability and GUT VOC emissions. Further details are available on the Velieris website: www.velieris.com
