Green List Goodness
In the coming months Inspired Constructions will be starting to demolish certain parts of a non-flooded house in Chelmer, ready for a major renovation and extension. Items that will be available include a kitchen, stairs, windows and more. Usually, these construction materials are placed on the company’s “Green List” through their website.
The “Green List” has been running since 2009 and proudly allows any person or community groups the opportunity to apply for legal, free materials left over from projects. Together with the owner of the property at Chelmer, Inspired Constructions would like to pass these materials to anyone who will be rebuilding their home or business. “It is a small gesture that we can offer to people who have lost everything.” Gio said.
All residents who have been affected by the recent flooding are called to action and log onto the website to register their interest via the “Green List” link and learn more about what materials are available. Inspired Constructions is managed by Brisbane-based couple Giovanni (Gio) and Angela Silanesu, who are passionate about the environment and giving back to the community.
“We use the Green List so that groups and charities can reap the rewards and enable us to make the most of the materials,” Gio said. The company also used recycled materials on their own projects and the results are impressive. “We completed a project in Kelvin Grove that utilised recycled timber for the flooring and the result was amazing, as well as environmentally responsible.”
