KBDi: Event Wrap Up
The Kitchen & Bathroom Designers Institute of Australia has kick-started 2014 with an exciting round of events hosted by new and continuing sponsors. If you missed out, here’s a wrap up of the results:
Adelaide: South Australian members and friends enjoyed the fine hospitality of new chapter sponsors, ‘Demor’, at The Source in Norwood on 27 February.
Perth: KBDi Gold Sponsors, Schweigen Home Appliances, launched their incredible new series of ‘Klasse’ rangehoods at the KHQ Osborne Park store on 4 March. In another presentation, KBDi Designer Member (and educator and colour enthusiast), Glenda Roff, enlightened attendees about ‘Understanding Your Client’s Personal Colour Preferences’. Glenda’s enthusiasm for colour had the audience enthralled, and armed with useful new skills in colour conversation. (Members: look out for more colour classes in the near future!)
Melbourne: Victorian Chapter Sponsors, TLD Kitchens hosted a huge event on Wednesday, 5 March. There was standing room only in the showroom of Let’s Talk Kitchens & Interiors, and the evening’s highlight -‘The Great Debate’ – caused quite a stir. Industry representatives argued for and against the evening’s topic: ‘That Australia has its own unique design style for Kitchens & Bathrooms and does not follow international trends’. The jury is still out on who won the debate, but the conversation will surely be an ongoing one!
Sydney: KBDi Bronze Sponsors, Winning Appliances, showed off their amazing Redfern Showroom at a very well attended event on 6 March. Bathroom trends of 2014 were previewed, and the New South Wales interpretation of ‘the great debate’ about the European influence on Aussie design was as lively as the Victorian event.
