“We provided a complete joinery solution for this modern extension to a Californian bungalow home. The clients wanted a simple, timeless white scheme that contrasted nicely with the rustic look of the timber flooring with its complementary colours and wood grains. To break up all the white, we incorporated timber veneer accents for a natural, earthy element on the floating shelves, framing on the TV unit and display nooks in the kitchen.
The cabinetry, from the floating TV unit at one end to the kitchen at the other, is very streamlined with all having finger-pull or push-to-open mechanisms. Each section is defined by its own wall alcove. Surfaces and finishes are sleek and uncomplicated. There’s an elegant alignment of horizontal and vertical lines on both the cabinets and the tiled splashback. The tiles add a traditional element, along with the large free-standing stove, which references the era of the original home within the new contemporary space.”
