Chapo Hatstand lamp

Designed by Philippe Starck in 2014, Chapo offers a contemporary design twist on the traditional hatstand, allowing a diffuse LED lampshade to be paired with any type of hat, to create soft, direct illumination. Starck, inspired by the cinematographic images of Alec Guinness, James Stewart and Fred Astaire throwing their hats onto anything within reach when they got home, created Chapo as a playful, interactive lighting piece.
The simple, yet clever design mixes the irreverent and retro charm of bygone times, with the latest technology LED-controllable light sources. Chapo benefits from a warm colour temperature dedicated LED light source and is supplied with an optical soft-touch dimmable switch on the base, a power supply and an adaptor with interchangeable plugs. A USB socket on the base enables you to recharge the most common smartphones and tablets.
