Living the high life

The newly released Sharky stool was unveiled at this year’s Salone Del Mobile furniture fair in Milan, Italy.

The two sinuous stools are, despite their predominantly narrow lines, extremely durable. The high stool incorporates the seat of the original Sharky chair and becomes a comfortable bar stool, whereas the low stool has a different seat, shortened for a more harmonious overall effect. The two fin-shaped coupling elements between the frame and the base clearly remain on the rear part — a technical detail that is the key characteristic of the project.

These two versatile stools can be used in the home as a distinguishing feature of your dining room, kitchen or — if you’ve got one — bar. Designed by Eva Paster and Michael Geldmacher, the aim was to develop a modern and contemporary design, where technology blends with constant contact with nature and its materials. It is a unique project, which is aesthetically pleasing whilst remaining durable and functional.

The Sharky stool can be fitted with light padding and upholstered in high-quality Kvadrat® fabric in different colours to create a number of design combinations. The base is shown here in wood, however, it is also available with an aluminium base for outdoor use, further highlighting the product’s versatility.
