Old sewing workshop in Tel Aviv transformed into Playstudios

An old sewing workshop in Tel Aviv has been transformed into the office of gaming and apps company, Playstudios, planned and designed by RUST Architects.

Located in a complex of three industrial buildings, the planning required the design of an existing industrial complex, complete with beams, concrete pillars and wide windows.

RUST decided to work with a range of materials with different textures, while maintaining the subtle colour palette. The main building includes a bright entrance and foyer, 5 self-contained working spaces for teams to enjoy their own lounge for meetings overlooking a courtyard.

The space even has a bar, which exists as part of the courtyard and generates interactions between staff every day. The additional building also contains a large conference room, meeting rooms and varying size, management offices and even a fitness centre. The third building was converted into a large hall with modular furniture next to a large central kitchen that can feed the staff daily and for events.

The lighting scheme enables a variety of options from focused lighting, flushing, central or personal to the worker. Along with technical lighting, classic lighting fixtures were selected to soften the industrialised ceiling.
