Saniflo releases the SANIFOS range of pump station

Saniflo has released a range of in-ground pump stations, SANIFOS, giving plumbing professionals a way to overcome several common gravity issues. The range consists of multiple solutions, ranging for use in smaller residential settings, up to larger, commercial applications.

The pumps can move water, wastewater or sewage from positions previously thought impossible, giving architects and plumbers an avenue to deliver what the end user wants.

It works by feeding sewage into the sealed underground pit, a wet well, and when the sewage reaches a predetermined level, a pump will automatically start to lift the sewage upward through a pressurised pipe system where it’s discharged into the main sewer line.

These pumps require excavation but after the digging is done (by either a plumbing professional or another party), the SANIFOS solution is an all-in-one product that can be completed by the plumber. The size of the pump station is figured out beforehand, meaning, it’s pretty much plug-and-play once on site.

In residential applications, renovators will be happy to know that the SANIFOS solution lets them change the placement of the bathroom or any room that needs plumbing. Additionally, a major market is in granny flats, letting individual apartments control their own water use, rather than as a collection of houses.

The SANIFOS 280 GR (pictured) is a reliable, single-phase cutter pump that is perfect for granny flats and smaller installations. It can pump wastewater from the bathroom, sink or washing machine.

In commercial settings, the pump stations are useful for commercial units on larger blocks of land, on a level block and/or when the gravity flow rate is too slow to accommodate the volume of sewage or stormwater.
